I recently had the pleasure of photographing the Althage family—Reed, Samantha, and their two adorable boys, Jake and Tripp—during a beautiful fall afternoon at Grand Central Park in Conroe, TX. It was one of those perfect autumn days, where the warm golden light filtering through the trees gave everything a magical glow. Fall in Texas might not always bring the cool, crisp air, but it does deliver some of the best natural light, and this session was a testament to that.
Grand Central Park is one of my favorite locations for family sessions. Nestled in the middle of the community, it offers a scenic backdrop with its lush greenery, winding pathways, and serene water views. The Althage family looked perfectly at ease among the tall trees, and the boys’ playful energy made for some heartwarming and candid moments. Jake, with his curious spirit, and Tripp, full of toddler charm, kept things lively as they explored the park.
Samantha chose the perfect outfits to complement the setting, with neutral tones that popped beautifully against the warm, earthy hues of fall. Reed and the boys coordinated in classic plaids, bringing a casual, comfortable vibe that fit right in with the laid-back atmosphere of the session.
As a fall family photographer in The Woodlands, these autumn sessions are some of my favorites. The soft golden light of late afternoon—often called the “golden hour”—provides the most flattering glow, making every photo feel extra special. It’s also the ideal time to capture those candid family moments, like when Jake and Tripp giggled as they ran around or when Samantha and Reed exchanged loving glances with their boys in tow.
If you’re considering booking a session, now is the perfect time! As a fall family photographer in The Woodlands, I love capturing the essence of your family in the most beautiful light and settings. With the golden hues of the season, you’ll get timeless images that perfectly reflect this special time in your family’s life.
